RECOMMENDATIONS:

“Cynthia directed Carmen many times at City Opera, always making it exciting and making the individual artists shine. She is a lovely colleague, a real opera professional and a wonderful person.”

Gary Wedow

Conductor, New York City Opera

"We have an excellent stage director in Cynthia Edwards, who's a real professional. She knows what she's doing and is a pleasure to work with."

Thomas Crawford

Artistic Director, American Classical Orchestra

"I had the pleasure of working with Cynthia Edwards for over 15 years at New York City Opera and also worked with her on one show for American Classical Orchestra. I always looked forward to being a member of her design team. As a Director, Cynthia was clear and concise with what she wanted and at the same time, was willing to be open to the ideas of her designers' and to respect their areas of expertise. She was always the perfect combination of leader and collaborator.

The productions I worked on with Cynthia (most frequently, the opera Carmen) were almost always incredibly large in scale. She is equally as capable of crafting the most intimate scenes between 2 people as she is maneuvering a chorus of 50+ around a stage to great dramatic effect.

I highly recommend Cynthia to anyone seeking a Director and would welcome the chance to work with her again."

Fight Director, New York City Opera

“It is unusual to find a creative director who is also easy to get along with and generous with new ideas! A pleasure to work with Cynthia."

Kinesthesia Coach, Anchorage Opera
